Amazing Grace
Bill Moyers narrated a PBS special on the hymn “Amazing Grace.” Opera singer Leontyne Price, his guest narrator, recalled when her agent booked her for a rock concert in London.  “It was “terrible, drugs, alcohol, noise, chaos…”  Her time came near the end when she sang “Amazing Grace.” For a few moments the noise continued unabated, then it was quiet, and then the rapt audience began to sing with her.  Commenting, Bill Moyers said “when grace descends the whole world stands silent.”  And this from The Diary of a Country Priest “What does it matter grace is everywhere.”  And, of course, “Amazing Grace how Sweet the Sound…
